It’s winter in South Africa, and rain in winter is highly unwelcome. My picture is of a promise of rain; water in the sky.
Once in a restaurant a friend asked the waiter, “Why is it so rainy today? It’s June we’re already cold.” The waiter looking highly unimpressed quickly retorted, “It must be witchcraft because everyone knows we don’t like being wet and cold at the same time.” Everyone at the table burst out laughing because we all suspected something sinister but weren’t intending to voice it so candidly.
Wet and cold, not a good combination in sunny South Africa
